Ventral view of an oriental fire-bellied toad tadpole. You can see the intestines and gills through the translucent belly.
A large Bullfrog tadpole held in a person's hands. This tadpole was found in October and may be a year old. Based on the size of the hind legs, it will probably spend another winter in the pond before metamorphosing in the spring or summer.
