Spring Peeper on ice-killed Wood-Frog eggs

January through February 2017 were unusually warm in Ohio, and many of the Wood Frogs bred early. But then a sudden cold snap froze the ponds, killing many of their eggs. Here is a male spring peeper that was calling from a perch on top of an ice-killed wood frog egg mass.
